The longest national highway in the world, the main route of the Trans-Canada stretches 7604 km (4725 mi) from St. John's, NF, to Victoria, BC. Along the route, it passes through all ten provinces.
Located in central Nova Scotia and bordered by the Northumberland Strait, this region is noted for its sand beaches, coastal fishing communities and numerous historical attractions. The region stretches from the eastern border town of Amherst and west to the town of Aulds Cove, near the entrance to Cape Breton Island.
